Council meeting bullet points
Two key decisions were taken at the Council today.
First the Council agreed to proceed with demolishing Meadowbank and replacing it with a much smaller stadium. Part of the site will be sold off to finance it. See here for more details.
The second was a decision to reject out of hand an investigation into enabling new ideas in the provision of education. Shame, as the Breakthrough Britain report upon which the Conservative proposal was based, contains a fund of good analysis of the causes of poverty and suggestions for breaking the cycle of poverty and poor education which afflicts many of our young folk.
