Blackford and Causewayside decisions

The two planning applications referred to a few days ago were dealt with this morning.

The proposal for a restaurant, four student flats and a penthouse flat at 56 Causewayside was approved.

The application for 10 Blackford Road was approved in part but the first story glass addition was rejected. The applicant now has to decide whether to appeal. This decision was taken by five votes to two. Councillors Burgess and myself both voted against the addition. My view was related to whether the modern style was appropriate for the Grange Conservation Area and the effect on the balance of the appearance of the villa.
