Threats scupper Prestonfield event

Telephone threats against the organisers have caused Winning Entrepreneurs business network to cancel today a visit by a US prison governor due to have taken place today in the Prestonfield Hotel. The threats came at a time when some campaigning groups have expressed opposition to the visit of Burl Cain. It is worth pointing out that whatever the views certain pressure groups may have about the prison and its work in the US, threats are simply illegal in this country and an unfortunate challenge to free speech. It is ironic that the left of centre BNP has just been allowed to elect two MEPs to represent UK voters in the recent European election. More here.
