Double 100th birthday at St Raphael's

Two exceptional ladies celebrated 100 years each in the St Raphael's Care Home today.

Mrs Martha (Betty) Billitt and Mrs Bessie Wilson both reached 100 earlier this month and the Lord and Lady Provost joined the party at the South Oswald Road Care Home.

The picture shows them (in the centre foreground) being entertained by the Southside Singers.

Who are the Southside singers? In the coming months, I hope that the Southside Association will be able to contribute to the enhancement of the area, and having singers in our midst would be an asset.

That's how they were introduced. I didn't get a chance to speak to them or find out and there is no website.
