Refuse collections update
My area of Southside & Newington had the normal uplifts of bins this morning and the main streets (and the Royal Mile area) are looking much better today. Do post if you are experiencing otherwise. If you are seeing this issue for the first time see here for the background.

Cameron, you can tell progress has been made. But to cite one example, there is about 12 bags of rubbish and a bin beside the bus stop in St Patrick's square.
I don't know who put the rubbish there but it has been there since at least Sunday morning.
Perhaps our Councillors could pitch in and help...
Martin: I didn't manage to get round there this evening to check if it was still there. The teams were certainly active in the area this afternoon.
Anonymous: If it continues I will be organising a team. Will you join us?
Hi Cameron, it was still there as of 10pm tonight. I saw teams active in Nicolson square on the way to work, first thing this morning. So I don't doubt that things are improving, but it will always take time to work what must be a sizeable backlog.
Cameron, sad to say but the streets have been a tip all week. And with the weekend here, it's clear it isn't going to get better until Monday at the earliest.
Does the Council have a contingency plan?
