Dame Elizabeth Blackadder

Events marking a local painter's 80th birthday take place in various locations this year.

Dame Elizabeth Blackadder, who resides in the Southside and Newington ward, is in her 80th year and the National Gallery is devoting a major summer exhibition to her works from July 2nd to the end of the year.

She is also due to appear at Newington Library on Friday 6th May when she will sign copies of a new book by poet and author Alan Spence.  But that is for a post next week.
