Tributes to Southside's Mary Devine

Many in the Southside will have known Mary Devine who passed away on 3rd January at the age of 86.

A hotelier in her earlier life, she was known in her latter years for managing the WRVS volunteers who operated the refreshment facility at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.  She and her team raised many thousands of pounds for charities over the years.

She also had particular interest in supporting Scottish Regiments (notably the Black Watch) and 'Help for Heroes', and she will be known to many for her involvement in the Southside Association, Southside Community Council and the Southside and Old Town Crime Prevention Panel. She chaired the latter for many years.

She will be missed.

Hi, I'm trying to work out if this Mary Devine was my grandmother. Do you know if she had a son called Glen Devon who was killed in Saudi Arabia in 1979? Or if she was married (but divorced from an Andrew Devine? Thanks for any help.
