Edinburgh: the revenge of the trams

The Lib Dems took the full wrath of the Edinburgh electorate in the 2012 council elections.

Reduced from fifteen councillors to three, they are now the smallest party.  The Greens doubled their number to six and we Conservatives remain at 11.  Which leaves the SNP with 18, up 5, and Labour also up 5 to become the largest party with 20.

All that makes for some interesting negotiations as councillors try to form an administration - with 30 needed for a clear majority.

Full results can be found on the Council website here.
