Allan Alstead wins Edinburgh Arrow

The Edinburgh Arrow, the prize in the annual Meadows competition of the Royal Company of Archers, was won yesterday by Allan Alstead.  The win followed a close finish involving a final shoot off.

The competition is one of the oldest continuously contested sporting events in the country.  Allan Alstead is known to many for his contribution to debates on the trams - as well as being a distinguished member of the Royal Company of Archers.
