New bus route to Tollcross

For the first time in 18 years there will now be a bus route from Southside and Newington which goes directly to Tollcross.

It is the Lothian Buses No 47 which runs from Penicuik to Granton Harbour. From 24th June, it will run from Nicolson Street, Nicolson Square, Potterrow and Lauriston Place to Tollcross and Lothian Road.  This route is instead of the Bridges and Princes Street route.  Details here and the timetable is in this PDF.  The service is every 30 mins (60 mins on Sundays)

This is a response to the roadworks around Princes Street and Lothian Buses are inviting your comments:
This is experimental – we want to hear your views.  If enough of our customers like it, we hope to make it permanent.  If customers try it but prefer the old route via the Bridges, we have an open mind to reverting to that route.   Please tell us how you like it at mail@lothianbuses.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
