Pharmacy application for Dalkeith Road

Chemists wishing to provide pharmacy services need to obtain approval from the local Health Authority.

Elixir Pharmacy Group has made an application for inclusion on the 'Pharmaceutical List' with a shop at 218 Dalkeith Road.  NHS Lothian have a committee to consider the application and would appreciate feedback from the local community. Such a shop would provide services to the greater Prestonfield area.

The applicant was refused an earlier bid in 2009 to use the premises at 158 Dalkeith Road and has unsuccessfully made a similar bid for a shop in Holyrood Road.  There are statutory tests which have to be addressed before grant of the right to provide such services and some background details can be found here.

The applicant applied in 2009 for pharmacy provision at 158 Dalkeith Road.  This was refused - appeal details here.
