High Court guilty for Meadows bandits

Two robbers with an imitation gun plead guilty at the High Court yesterday and face jail when they are sentenced on August 15th.

On 29th March the arrests of Steven McGregor (25, from Magdalene Drive) and Megan Preston (24, from Musselburgh) were reported on this blog here following three robberies (or attempts) in the Middle Meadow Walk area.

A description of the events, as it was laid before the High Court, can be found here.   Joseph McMillan, an intended victim, managed to wrest the imitation gun from the bandits and, along with his friends, they effectively put an end to the crime spree.

Update 1600:  The BBC now has a report on the circumstances.
