Argyle Place junction reworking

Argyle Place at Middle Meadow Walk
February is the planned date for work to change the layout of the Argyle Place/Melville Drive junction.

It has always been regarded as something of a confusing junction with particular unease amongst pedestrians.

The reworking, which will be carried out at the same time as resurfacing and widening of the off road pedestrian cycle path to the west of Argyle Place to Meadow Place, is scheduled to take about four weeks.  There will be a road closure at the foot of Argyle Place for part of the time.

I don't have the new plans to hand.

I note the footpath to the east (right) of the above picture (between Melville Drive and Melville Terrace) has now been signposted as a cycle route. It is known as South Meadow Walk and I anticipate there will be signs affixed in coming months to show the name of this path - which has never had a street sign of its own - at least in the 30 years I have lived in the area.
