Meadows drainage under way

Work under way today to insert sub surface drains in part of the 'events area' of the Meadows - which was so affected by lying water last year.

The area of the East Meadows close to Middle Meadow Walk already has a single drain leading to the a drain and a culvert.  The lying water experienced over many months suggests it is silted up or inefficient.  The new 6" porous pipes will be laid in a herring bone fashion in part of the area in order to improve the soak away.

This looks just the same as they did in October 2003.
Have they forgotten that?
It doesn't seem to have worked too well,
so are they going to do it differently this time?
