Secret garden

One of the best kept secrets in Edinburgh is Newington Cemetery on the west side of Dalkeith Road.  (It has also been referred to as the Newington Necropolis or the Echo Bank Cemetery).   It has history, heritage, flora and fauna in abundance and its significance is under appreciated.  There are around 120 Commonwealth War Graves plus a Jewish Cemetery - used up to 1945.

I have posted about aspects of it previously.

The Community Council would like to have more people get the benefit of this beautiful urban wilderness.  If you would like to give ideas and help, do contact the Community Council where Maureen Edwards would love to hear from you.  Click here for contact details of the Secretary.

Keeping you informed
