New refuge island, Peffermill Road

Work on a new crossing in Peffermill Road is due to begin on or around 7th April.  It is expected to last two weeks and work will be between 9am and 4pm on weekdays.

The central refuge island is between the junction with Prestonfield Avenine and the bend just down from Nairn's biscuit factory.  The island will assist crossing the busy commuting route.  There are two homes for the elderly nearby and sightlines are not great with the bend in Peffermill Road nearby.

It should make life easier for pedestrians crossing.
