Lafayette exhibition

103 years ago past Sunday a fire destroyed the Empire Palace Theatre in Nicolson Street (now the site of the Festival Theatre).  The main artist the Great Lafayette was killed in the conflagration in extraordinary circumstances.  More details of that event here.

In July, the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre (home of the Edinburgh Association of Spiritualists) is hosting an exhibition chronicling the life of the illusionist Lafayette.  The fire was on 4th May 1911.

You might like to check the date you have given here. 2011 is not 102 years ago. By the way 1911 is 103 years ago!
