Mis-selling in the area?

I have reports from residents in the Dumbiedykes area of a person apparently representing the company Moneyexpert Ltd which offer comparisons for the best offers for car insurance, credit cards, gas and electricity and other services.

It has been reported that the person representing this company is claiming to be working in conjunction with Edinburgh Council.

That sounds very unlikely and has been reported to the Council's Trading Standards Section.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I would like to assure you readers that the utility product being offered in Scotland is a quality product that can help people to save money on their utility bills. It is fully tested and works very well for thousands of customers across the UK.

Our face to face agents are highly trained and perfectly placed to provide utility comparisons, but do not have access to any other products mentioned in your post – There is a range of products available which may be visible on the company’s website, but not for our door to door agents.

All of our agents are correctly qualified, carry ID badges and wear a high visibility vest with our company name on it. If anyone is at all concerned please call the number on the agents ID badge to speak with us.

The product is not offered in association with any council and I have already instigated an investigation into this suggestion. I would like to apologise to the person that raised the matter and thank them for bringing this to my attention which I will address as quickly as possible.
