Police escalate Salisbury Place assault investigation

There will be an increased number of police patrols in the area this the week end.  Some will be handing out appeals for information.  The assault occurred last Sunday morning around 2.50am in Salisbury Place with a described suspect running off towards Minto Street.  He was wearing a kilt and a fuller description can be found here.

Police have now issued a press release for seven people to come forward. They were walking from Clerk Street into South Clerk Street near to the suspect and only a couple of minutes before the assault.  The police press release with more details, including descriptions of the witnesses police want to trace, is here.

If you can help, contact police on 101.
