Firebomber of Central Mosque guilty

Thomas Conington has pleaded guilty at Glasgow High Court on Explosives Act and other charges.  He has also been found guilty of a breach of the peace at Lidl in Nicolson Street a year ago.  The main charges related to an incident at the Central Mosque in Potterrow last September 18th.

Conington, who is 28, was on bail and had also been responsible for another incident at the mosque a year previously.  He is now remanded in custody for sentence.  The incident last September caused little physical damage but there is clearly a pattern here - a previous incident at the mosque, an incident at Lidl in Nicolson Street, then the incident last September whilst he was on bail.  A substantial prison sentence is needed to protect the public.

More details can be found here.
