Register to vote in the council elections

There is one week left to register to vote at the Council elections on 4th May.

You can register online here.  You can also still get a postal vote or register for a proxy vote (i.e get someone else to vote for you).

Postal vote requests (or requests for a proxy vote if you have a postal vote) need to be received by 5pm on Tuesday 18th April (one week tomorrow).  Requests for a proxy (not a proxy for a postal vote) need to be submitted by 5pm on Tuesday 25th April.

Emergency proxy votes can ve arranged up to 5pm on the day of the election.

And voting in person takes place on Thursday 4th May between 7am and 10pm.

You can also register by telephoning the Electoral Registration Office.  The number is here.

And remember, 16-18 year olds can vote.

I will bring you a list of the candidates for the Southside/Newington ward in the next few days.
